With its about 60.000 pictures, the archives of The Museum of Danish Resistance 1940-1945 holds the largest photo collection specialised in Denmark during Nazi occupation.
Most photos are represented by prints arranged by subject matter in the archives. Over the years however, a minor part - comprising many of the better known motives - has been digitised in high resolution in TIF-format as a consequence of sales for the production of books etc.
In 2000 we published a CD aimed at schools containing images of about 4.400 photos from the archives along with 4.000 museum objects and 600 documents, drawings and leaflets. These pictures are low-resolution, only suitable for screen use (720 * 516 pixels).
Maybe the pictures you need can be downloaded free of cost
As an experiment, The Museum of Danish Resistance allows free download of its digital images for both private and professional use (printing, homepages, film and television).
The Museum of Danish Resistance does however retain ownership of the digital files. We merely lend them out for specific uses. It is thus not permitted to download the files to put them on stock as part of the building up of ones own photo archives nor to pass them on to third parties.
In case of publication The Museum of Danish Resistance 1940-1945 must be mentioned as source.
We do ecpect a free copy of any books for which photos from our archives have been used to a significant degree to be sent to our library spontaneously.
